Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication
The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the possibility of renewal. This position, starting in August 2025, is based in the Communication Department and focuses on teaching courses in media production while supporting the university’s Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in Photography, Digital Video Production, and Audio Production.
- Potentially teach additional courses such as graphic design, web design, film production, or film appreciation/studies, based on experience.
- Engage with students to foster leadership and service, aligning with the university’s mission.
- Participate in departmental duties and professional development opportunities.
- A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Communication or a related field is preferred; candidates with a Master’s degree (MA) and significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in photography, video production, and/or audio production.
- Experience in graphic design, web design, film production, and/or film studies is a plus.
- Commitment to supporting the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
