Assistant Volleyball Coach
The Assistant Volleyball coach assists the Head Volleyball Coach with the coordination and preparation of the university's volleyball team, participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as an NCAA Division II institution.
A key responsibility is the enthusiastic implementation of and personal investment in the University’s ‘Greatness through Virtue’ whole-person development model.
Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinates recruitment, setting up visits and follow-up meetings with potential students
- Assists with monitoring the academic progress of student athletes
- Scouts opponents
- Assists with film breakdown
- Assists with planning practices and preparing for matches
- Assists with managing the program budget
- Assists with organizing volleyball camps and clinics
- Assists with all compliance forms and record keeping
- Attends community service events for both the volleyball program and the athletic department
- Assists with game management of other varsity sports as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules, standards, practices, and procedures
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and communication skills and provide positive leadership in all aspects of the University of Mary volleyball program.
- Understanding the ‘Greatness through Virtue’ core strategies and being able to facilitate the growth of our Scholar-Athletes in the virtues of academic life
- Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
- Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
- Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ
